What a day! I have to say, the weather is GORGEOUS outside right now - blue skies, 65 degrees, leaves of vibrant oranges, reds and yellows with mums and pumpkins emerging from front porches......but man, today I feel old! After falling down the stairs last week, my tailbone "area" still does not feel well. I can't lie on my back, it hurts to sit on a chair normally, it hurts even more to lift Julia and pick up the millions of toys around our house....oh, if I only had a few weeks of bedrest! YEAH RIGHT!
I'm hoping that region of my body will feel better soon!
This school year has definitely gotten off to a busy start. Today was just another busy Tuesday - took Marissa to Preschool at 8:20, Julia and I ran to the grocery store after, put Julia down for a nap around 9:30, had to WAKE HER (which I would NEVER do if I didn't have to) at 10:30, get back on the road to pick Marissa up at 11, come home to make lunch, get Ballerina Marissa dressed for dance, get back in the car at 12:45, check Julia into childcare (where I left her screaming), take Marissa to class and check her in, grab a treadmill, and then take a deep breath! Oh, and then realize the sheer pain of my backside/tailbone area as I tried to walk at a reasonable speed! Oh the joy!
So I made it through 1.1 miles before I just had to stop, and then, what I was thinking I don't know, but I get on the bike. I positioned myself in just the right way to stand going 4 miles at a decent speed, but when I tried to get OFF the bike I almost cried it hurt so bad. Lord, I pray I didn't really break something!
My 40 min. of freedom was up, Miss Marissa was beaming with all the fun she had, showing off her new tap moves, Julia was clinging to the childcare worker and quickly welcomed the appearance of Marissa and I, and off we went, back home. (So glad we have a DVD player in the car for days like this!) So now it's 4pm...I've had two little girls asleep for an hour and a half - AT THE SAME TIME, therefore giving me time to catch up with my friend Angela and do some blogging!
Mallory arrives home in approximately 2 minutes, so I guess I have to end for now.
I promise more pictures will be coming soon - just have to get them off of my PHONE and on to the computer!
Hope you're having a great day!

First DAYS of School Pictures
So it was finally time to begin school for the 2012-2013 school year. To me, our summer seemed to last FOREVER, with unusual routines and trips, but it was a great summer! As great as it was though, I was more than ready to get back into a new school year, with routines and normal bedtimes! With Pinterest inspiration, I made signs for both Mallory and Marissa this year.
Mallory will begin her 3rd year in the Partial Spanish Immersion Program at Lino Lakes Elementary. We moved into this home because of this program and this school, and so far, things are going well for her. She has a new teacher, which has been an adjustment for everyone, but I think it will be a good fit. She is with this same group of kids through 6th grade, and had the same teacher the first two years of the program, so you can see why change is a big deal!
When time came, Mallory was very excited to begin the new Year! Unfortunately the first day brought warm temps. and lots of humidity, so the picture didn't turn out too well - still trying to learn all the settings on my new camera! So here she is...ready to hop on the bus for her first day of 3rd Grade!
Marissa insisted on taking a picture with the flowers...or what's left of the flowers! Being gone the majority of the summer didn't bode well for the gardens!
Thursday, September 6th was Marissa's first day of her NEW Preschool! She had been to daycare before I became her weekly caregiver, but never had she gone to a "school." Jason found out about the school, Los Ninos Preschool, through our "printer" we use for Thirst Missions. His wife is the teacher and has classes in their home. It's a great setup - small class size, and she loves it!
Here Marissa is on HER first day of school! It is a two day a week - 2 hours a day SPANISH Preschool....let's hope she makes some good friends and learns some spanish!
Such a crazy family...Mallory is always trying to act just like her Dad while Marissa is the quiet one, and Julia just looks at everyone like they're crazy!
So this is the beginning of our "schooling" for the year...Julia and I will begin our new "Mommy and Me" class at the Early Chilhood Center on Sept. 24th, where we will only know one other friend, but we're excited about the prospect of meeting other 1-2 year olds in our area!
This year is sure to be a busy one, but I'll keep you updated!

One Year
Hello readers!
Tomorrow will mark one year since I last wrote on this blog. Wow! What a year! I can't believe I've posted NOTHING from it. I've made promises that I would write, and of course, never followed through, but I think that I need this for me, and to share with all my friends and family what is going on in the Pfingsten household!
As you know, it's been a crazy busy summer for us. With multiple trips to Texas, a trip to Belize, a trip to Green Bay, and not much time to relax at home, I am happy to report that we have all survived, although the yard looks horrible! School starts tomorrow for Mallory, where she will be starting 3rd Grade in the Spanish Immersion Class at Lino Lakes Elementary, and Thirst Missions just opened an office on September 1st. Lots of reasons for that, but I'll wait to explain until I can post new pictures of the office! (Jason and I just completed the set up today, and he is interviewing for a part time worker tomorrow!)
As I said, life has truly been busy, but I hope to post lots and lots of pictures soon, but until then, have a great night! This gal is exhausted!

Surviving
I know, it's been awhile. I didn't realize it had been since March, but I am going to try my best to be a regular blogger. It used to be such a good outlet for me, and I'm hoping to pick it up once again!
Since the last time I wrote, many things have happened/changed/stressed me out/and so forth - some for the bad and some for the good! I had a really stressful ending to my teaching career, but I survived and am moving on. I went back home to Texas with Jason during Spring Break, which was a great refresher for me, but Spring seemed to last forever. I was gaining a little weight with the pregnancy, but for the most part, no one I worked with knew I was pregnant, and for some reason, I didn't feel the need to tell anyone! Finally, at the end of April, when plans were being made for the next year, I broke the news to my fellow teachers. I felt so bad because they had gone through new teachers frequently in that position, but thankfully, they rehired the teacher from last year, which made me not feel so guilty about all the change!
Jason and I decided that I would stay home with the new baby as much as possible, maybe pick up a part time job (I was already dreading the emotional struggle that would be leaving her) but it would be better than a full time position so far away again. The last week of school was HOT! Now, I grew up in the heat, but what I didn't grow up in was teaching in a stressful classroom, two weeks into June, stuck in a second story box and NO Air condition!!!! To top it off, that was the week I packed my things up to move out! Praise the Lord Jason was able to help move everything out, and it was all going downstairs this time! Oh, and did I mention I was 8 months pregnant too?! LOL. What a week - so glad that is past, but I struggled alot knowing that I wouldn't be teaching next year. As much as I know I needed a break, it's still sad packing things up and putting it into storage. Now that school is starting back, it's hard to walk pass the school supply list and not be tempted to pick up some cheap crayons, markers, and pencils!
So yes, this is a bit of a random entry, but over the next few weeks, I hope to take some time and share with you everything that has been going on since the arrival of our angel, Julia Kaye. She is absolutely precious and turned 7 weeks old today. I'm amazed at how much she has grown and it already makes me sad having to put away her "newborn" clothes. :( I guess this is just the beginning of many changes to come, but I am so thankful!

Girls, Girls, Girls!
As some of you know, just before Christmas it was confirmed that I was pregnant! It's been a whirlwind since then.
Soon to big a big "middle" sister!
She is ready to be a Big sister again!

Moving Up - Our First Place Together
It was time to leave Ramsey, and move closer to Mallory's school, which is in Lino Lakes. After a few months searching, and help from a local realtor, we found a home and a couple who were in the same situation as we were with trying to sell their home, but having no luck. We offered the couple what we could, and they decided to take us up on our rental offer. So here we are, move in date was December 1st, just in time for another snow! I got to the house before Jason did with the Uhaul, so here are a few pictures without our things in it. I realized I hadn't shown any family or friends where we were, so I hope this helps you picture our new home!
We live in an area called Columbus, about 5 minutes from Mallory's school, on the bus route, and about 5 minutes from Forest Lake, where our kids will go to Middle/Junior High and High School.
It is in the country, on a few acres, two ponds, lots of room, decks, and storage!
Here is our fish pond. The fish are in the garage for the winter....but hopefully the snow will melt soon so they can rejoin the outdoor animals! We haven't been able to see the outline of the pond for months now...can't even see it outside right now, but this is what it looked like on our first day here.
It is a split level home, but we have a handy door on the bottom floor/basement/garage.

Lil' Kickers
On Saturday, Mallory had the opportunity to learn a few dance moves from the Forest Lake "Kickers" - or dance team. She spent the morning learning some steps, and the members of the dance team taught them a few routines. If you scroll down you can watch two different videos from their "production" at the end of their workshop. Friday night Mallory gets to perform at the halftime show of the High School Football Game - should be fun!
