I feel OLD

What a day!  I have to say, the weather is GORGEOUS outside right now - blue skies, 65 degrees, leaves of vibrant oranges, reds and yellows with mums and pumpkins emerging from front porches......but man, today I feel old!  After falling down the stairs last week, my tailbone "area" still does not feel well.  I can't lie on my back, it hurts to sit on a chair normally, it hurts even more to lift Julia and pick up the millions of toys around our house....oh, if I only had a few weeks of bedrest!  YEAH RIGHT!

I'm hoping that region of my body will feel better soon!

This school year has definitely gotten off to a busy start.  Today was just another busy Tuesday - took Marissa to Preschool at 8:20, Julia and I ran to the grocery store after, put Julia down for a nap around 9:30, had to WAKE HER (which I would NEVER do if I didn't have to) at 10:30, get back on the road to pick Marissa up at 11, come home to make lunch, get Ballerina Marissa dressed for dance, get back in the car at 12:45, check Julia into childcare (where I left her screaming), take Marissa to class and check her in, grab a treadmill, and then take a deep breath!  Oh, and then realize the sheer pain of my backside/tailbone area as I tried to walk at a reasonable speed!  Oh the joy!

So I made it through 1.1 miles before I just had to stop, and then, what I was thinking I don't know, but I get on the bike.  I positioned myself in just the right way to stand going 4 miles at a decent speed, but when I tried to get OFF the bike I almost cried it hurt so bad.  Lord, I pray I didn't really break something!

My 40 min. of freedom was up, Miss Marissa was beaming with all the fun she had, showing off her new tap moves, Julia was clinging to the childcare worker and quickly welcomed the appearance of Marissa and I, and off we went, back home.  (So glad we have a DVD player in the car for days like this!)  So now it's 4pm...I've had two little girls asleep for an hour and a half - AT THE SAME TIME, therefore giving me time to catch up with my friend Angela and do some blogging!

Mallory arrives home in approximately 2 minutes, so I guess I have to end for now.

I promise more pictures will be coming soon - just have to get them off of my PHONE and on to the computer!

Hope you're having a great day!

First DAYS of School Pictures

So it was finally time to begin school for the 2012-2013 school year.  To me, our summer seemed to last FOREVER, with unusual routines and trips, but it was a great summer!  As great as it was though, I was more than ready to get back into a new school year, with routines and normal bedtimes!  With Pinterest inspiration, I made signs for both Mallory and Marissa this year.

Mallory will begin her 3rd year in the Partial Spanish Immersion Program at Lino Lakes Elementary.  We moved into this home because of this program and this school, and so far, things are going well for her.  She has a new teacher, which has been an adjustment for everyone, but I think it will be a good fit.  She is with this same group of kids through 6th grade, and had the same teacher the first two years of the program, so you can see why change is a big deal!

When time came, Mallory was very excited to begin the new Year!  Unfortunately the first day brought warm temps. and lots of humidity, so the picture didn't turn out too well - still trying to learn all the settings on my new camera!  So here she is...ready to hop on the bus for her first day of 3rd Grade!

We always have to have a family picture - minus me, of course!

Marissa insisted on taking a picture with the flowers...or what's left of the flowers!  Being gone the majority of the summer didn't bode well for the gardens!

Thursday, September 6th was Marissa's first day of her NEW Preschool!  She had been to daycare before I became her weekly caregiver, but never had she gone to a "school." Jason found out about the school, Los Ninos Preschool, through our "printer" we use for Thirst Missions.  His wife is the teacher and has classes in their home.  It's a great setup - small class size, and she loves it!

Here Marissa is on HER first day of school!  It is a two day a week - 2 hours a day SPANISH Preschool....let's hope she makes some good friends and learns some spanish!

Such a crazy family...Mallory is always trying to act just like her Dad while Marissa is the quiet one, and Julia just looks at everyone like they're crazy!

So this is the beginning of our "schooling" for the year...Julia and I will begin our new "Mommy and Me" class at the Early Chilhood Center on Sept. 24th, where we will only know one other friend, but we're excited about the prospect of meeting other 1-2 year olds in our area!

This year is sure to be a busy one, but I'll keep you updated!

One Year

Hello readers!
Tomorrow will mark one year since I last wrote on this blog.  Wow!  What a year!  I can't believe I've posted NOTHING from it.  I've made promises that I would write, and of course, never followed through, but I think that I need this for me, and to share with all my friends and family what is going on in the Pfingsten household!

As you know, it's been a crazy busy summer for us.  With multiple trips to Texas, a trip to Belize, a trip to Green Bay, and not much time to relax at home, I am happy to report that we have all survived, although the yard looks horrible!  School starts tomorrow for Mallory, where she will be starting 3rd Grade in the Spanish Immersion Class at Lino Lakes Elementary, and Thirst Missions just opened an office on September 1st.  Lots of reasons for that, but I'll wait to explain until I can post new pictures of the office!  (Jason and I just completed the set up today, and he is interviewing for a part time worker tomorrow!)

As I said, life has truly been busy, but I hope to post lots and lots of pictures soon, but until then, have a great night!  This gal is exhausted!
