Just the Beginning

Welcome to our new "Pfingsten Family" blog! I know it's been a long time since I have blogged, and since I am a Nomad no Longer, Jason and I decided to start a Family Blog so friends and family can keep up with us up here in the North!

We have been living as a family here in Ramsey, MN for nine days now. What an adventure! It's one thing to verbally express all the changes, and another to actually live it out. Adjustments here we come...mainly for me I think!

The honeymoon was amazing, although I did come down with Strep for part of it. After a bit of drama with my renter and house we finally had the Penske truck loaded, and Jason and I began the journey north from Bay City. Two days of driving a 26 foot truck AND my car on a trailer behind got us here Thursday evening, a week ago, and YES, I actually drove it! (I'll post a picture to show you just how long our vehicle became!)

Since our arrival, the weather has been absolutely amazing. We have eaten every meal outside on the patio, and I am loving it! We've had the girls for at least a part of every day since we've been back, we've unloaded some of my things and have a ton still in storage. I've spent a part of every day here searching and applying for jobs, and it seems as though teaching may not be in my future this year. I've applied at colleges for random jobs, and even sent out emails for receptionist positions at various offices. It seems I'm highly desired as a receptionist, but unfortunately, the pay stinks and no benefits....so still praying about my occupation for the coming year. Never dreamed it would be so hard to be a teacher, or to find a good job. Luckily, school hasn't started yet here - they begin the Tuesday after Labor Day, so we've spent some time helping Mallory get ready for her first day of 1st Grade at a new school, and a new Spanish Immersion Program. I think it will be a challenge for us all! To be honest, it was very hard going up to Meet the Teacher and Open House on Thursday, but I feel confident that Mallory's teacher will be great...just so strange being in the parent role instead of the teacher. I sure have a lot to learn this year!

Marissa is keeping us busy as usual. She's walking everywhere, laughs alot, and keeps us all on our toes! It's amazing how a 21 month old can rule the roost, and our schedules definitely depend on how she is feeling! Welcome to parenthood, right?!

So that's the beginning thus far...I've left out a lot, but it's a gorgeous day here - just reached 60 degrees, and we've got to get out of this house! It's the last weekend before school begins, so we must enjoy!
